What should You expect from Rivers Sealcoating?

Place
  1. We start the job by prepping your asphalt perimeter where necessary to properly seal asphalt edges.
  2. We then power clean surface and prepare potholes and cracks for repair. If there are oil stains, we prime them at this time.
  3. We do not use water to clean your asphalt as this could lead to trapping unwanted moisture in cracks and under sealer. Your surface and cracks must be clean and dry for proper material bonding.
  4. We prefer using hot asphalt for repair rather than cold patch material for aesthetic and durability reasons.
  5. We have also found hot rubber to be the best solution for large cracks.
  6. After all repairs are made a final cleaning is done for sealer preparation.
  7. In our custom blend sealer we add small aggregate to our sealer for traction and to help fill small cracks.
  8. We add a fast drying agent for your convenience or, for the occasional loose pet in the neighborhood (tracking).
  9. We also add modifiers for hardening, greater durability, bonding, petroleum protection, water and ultraviolet light resistance.
  10. We apply our sealer with a bristled broom. The broom gives the best finish available by far. Your finish is thicker, more even, and hides repairs better than the spray or squeegee application methods.
  11. Upon completion, we set up cones or stakes at the entrances with caution tape to make people aware of the fresh sealer.
  12. We recommend a minimum of 3 hours for foot traffic, 24 hours drive traffic and, if possible, 1 week for parking on rubber and asphalt repairs. Parking vehicles with hot tires on rubber crack fill will give the two like materials the opportunity to try to bond which could possibly damage crack repairs.
